Bill Pray on Elliott/Novell – What Might Happen to GroupWise
this blog (http://ccsblog.burtongroup.com/collaboration_and_content/2010/03/elliottnovell-what-might-happen-to-groupwise.html) by Bill Pray (http://www.burtongroup.com/AboutUs/Bios/PrintBio.aspx?Id=169), previous GroupWise Product Manager, on the future of GroupWise. What-if...
The bid by Elliott for Novell has lead to speculation on what may happen should the buyout be successful. Blogs from Drue Reeves (Novell Going Private (http://dcsblog.burtongroup.com/data_center_strategies/2010/03/novell-going-private.html)?) and Richard Jones (Elliott/Novell: Implications on SUSE (http://dcsblog.burtongroup.com/data_center_strategies/2010/03/elliottnovell-implications-on-suse.html)) have highlighted their observations. Having been a former Novell employee and product manager for GroupWise, I want to take the opportunity to add my observations on what might happen to Novell’s communications and collaboration technologies should the buyout occur.
GroupWise has been a solid, mature, feature rich, enterprise solution for many years.
